Child & Family Treatment
Intervention encompassing all dynamics of the family system. Child and Family Team provides school based, outreach as well as in-clinic services utilizing various therapies, behavioral approaches as well as family consultation, family therapy, school consultation and referral services.
Outreach & Home-based Therapy
Recognizing that many clients are unable to consistently access clinic based appointments due to a number of issues, we offer service delivery where it is needed.
In-home Behavioral Services
For children and adolescents with specific behavioral problem that get in the way of everyday life. Special behavioral plans will be developed in collaboration with the child, family and school. Note: Referrals for this service must come from ICC, In-home Therapy or Outpatient provider.
Autism Services
Autism team provides supportive, family-centered interventions for children with autism and children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Services include assessments, consultation with parents, home-based behavioral therapy and referral services. Our Autism Team includes Spanish speaking clinicians.
Substance Abuse
Co-occurring Disorders
Co-occurring disorders (COD) exist when a person has mental health concerns, and an alcohol or substance abuse issue. The term co-occurring disorders refers to an individual having one or more substance abuse disorders and one or more psychiatric disorders at the same time. ('Dual diagnosis' is an older term for 'co-occurring disorders'.)
At Valley Psychiatric Service, treatment is gender specific and trauma informed. We utilize the Stages of Change model building on levels of client commitment to enhance motivation toward change. Treatment recommendations, duration, modalities and frequency of sessions vary according to individual client and family needs. Group and/or individual treatment is provided by our committed team of clinicians specializing in co-occurring disorders. We provide treatment to adults and adolescents. Services are available in English and Spanish.

Forensic Services
Experienced clinicians at Valley Psychiatric Service (VPS) provide a bridge to individuals leaving prison and seeking meaningful re-entry into the community. In conjunction with the After Incarceration Support Systems (AISS) at the W.W. Johnson Life Center, our team of co-occurring and trauma informed staff offer individual and group psychotherapy. VPS accepts referrals for psychiatric and psychological evaluations from all members of the criminal justice community including consumers and their lawyers, sheriffs and prosecutors, judges, caseworkers and supervising parole and probation officers.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a research-based therapy for people who find emotional regulation to challenge their life and relationships. This comprehensive treatment involves weekly individual and group commitment.
